History

The Kennel Club of Texarkana, Incorporated, was founded in October of 1967 to promote the care and welfare of dogs, specifically purebred dogs.

The Club held its first Fun Match in 1968, followed by several AKC sanctioned B Matches and A Matches until all of The American Kennel Club's requirements were met and the Club became licensed to hold AKC Dog Shows and Obedience Trials in Texarkana. The first dog show was held on November 18, 1973.

The Kennel Club of Texarkana, Incorporated, is an educational, charitable and social organization made up of a diverse group of dog enthusiasts working together to:
